ABERDEEN Inspired has unveiled its Win Your Dream Christmas competition with a £1,000 Aberdeen Gift Card as a prize, giving one lucky winner the chance to enjoy all of their favourite things this Christmas.

The magical festive giveaway comes as even more Granite City retailers sign up for the hugely successful scheme that supports local businesses and helps keep the city centre thriving.

The Aberdeen Gift Card can now be spent with more than 350 businesses, including shops, bars, restaurants, and attractions giving people an easy way to support local.

Shona Byrne, project manager with Aberdeen Inspired – which introduced the gift card in 2020 – said the Win Your Dream Christmas competition gives people the chance to have the Christmas of their dreams:

“The Win Your Dream Christmas competition is a chance for someone to have a really magical Christmas without worrying about the cost, courtesy of a £1,000 Aberdeen Gift Card.

“There is so much happening in Aberdeen this Christmas and the competition is a great reminder of the fantastic businesses we’re lucky enough to call our own.

“And the Aberdeen Gift Card gives you complete freedom of choice in how you spend it. You can buy everything you need for a family Christmas dinner from high street icons like Marks & Spencer, or pick up unique presents for your loved ones from independent, Aberdeen born-and-bred retailers such as Juniper.

“And that’s before we even start on the many restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a Christmas night out, using your Aberdeen Gift Card.

Shona added there is now even more choice offered by the Aberdeen Gift Card as most retailers in Union Square, such as Seasalt Cornwall, have recently signed up to the scheme, joining those in the Trinity Centre and Bon Accord Centre, along with myriad businesses across the city, including along Union Street.

“It is almost easier to list places that don’t accept the Aberdeen Gift Card than those that do,” she said.

Colin Munro, managing director of Miconex, founders of the Town & City Gift Card concept, said a recent survey they conducted found support for buying local is higher than ever:

“Over 98% of people in our 2023 survey said they’re keen to support local businesses this Christmas and 87% said they support local businesses to help keep them open.  Some 89% plan to buy at least one gift card this Christmas, and the Aberdeen Gift Card not only offers support for local, it offers the widest choice, too.”

The Win Your Dream Christmas competition opens on 6th November and closes on 8th December. Enter free at: www.winyourxmas.co.uk

Aberdeen Gift Cards can be bought from the information centre on the ground floor of the Bon Accord Centre and there will be an outlet at Trinity Centre later this month. The gift cards can also be bought online at aberdeengiftcard.com
