AN international flavour, gripping drama, sizzling romance and cutting-edge performance are
among the themes on offer in a string of newly announced shows bound for His Majesty’s
Theatre.
Described as “a symphony of acrobatics, sound and light” Humans 2.0 from Australian based
Circa will stop off in Aberdeen as part of a brand new international season for the city curated
by Aberdeen Performing Arts, with productions here for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe adding
the North-East to their visit to Scotland for the first time. The exciting circus performance of
Ten Thousand Hours from Australian company Gravity and Other Myths features in this
season with further announcements on the full line-up coming soon.

Audiences will be taken on a journey as Agatha Christie’s classic whodunnit, Murder on the
Orient Express, is on track to visit Aberdeen from February 11-15 2025, Ghost the Musical
(November 5-9) promises to tug on the heartstrings, and one of the most critically acclaimed
plays of the 20th century, A Streetcar Named Desire is set to wow from November 12-14,
and adventure is guaranteed with Dinosaur World Live on October 15-16.
Cult favourite Heathers (September 24-28), has also joined the 2024 line-up alongside
murder mystery Rebus: A Game of Malice which will keep you guessing from September 16-
21.
Dance fans will be entranced by ‘NOW’, a new creation by choreographer Jasmin Vardimon
MBE on October 19, while a fun night out is guaranteed by Girls Night Oot on November 15
and A Night at the Musicals on November 16.
Aberdeen Performing Arts Chief Executive Sharon Burgess said: “We always strive to

ahead this announcement takes it another level with all bases covered – drama, mystery,
romance, cutting edge dance, and some light-hearted fun in there too.

Humans 2.0 heads up a new season of events forming a brand new international festival for
Aberdeen. A symphony of acrobatics, sound and light, this is next level circus by Circa.
Ten bodies appear in a flash of light. They move in harmony for a fleeting moment and then
descend into a sinuous trance. Towers grow and decay, bodies leap and are caught, as
physical limits are pushed to their extreme. Can we ever find a perfect balance or is adapting
to constant change the only way forward?
This next chapter of Circa’s internationally acclaimed Humans is a tightly woven
choreography of bodies, pulsing with music by composer Ori Lichtik and revealed in Paul
Jackson’s dramatic lighting. Created by circus visionary Yaron Lifschitz, Humans 2.0 is
intimate, primal and deeply engaged with the challenge of being human.
Ten Thousand Hours from Gravity and Other Myths visits His Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday
25 and Friday 26 July. A circus and physical theatre performance sees eight elite acrobats
investigate physical skill, how we obtain it and how it can transform our lives. Described as
jaw-dropping, the acrobatic performance is a love letter to our bodies and the amazing things
they let us do every day and includes visual storytelling, movement and contemporary dance.
Murder on the Orient Express stops off at His Majesty’s next February. Winter 1934 and an
avalanche stops The Orient Express dead in its tracks. One murderer. A train full of suspects.

A Streetcar Named Desire from Pitlochry Festival Theatre is one of the most critically
acclaimed and extraordinary plays of the twentieth century. Ready yourselves for a sizzling
night out. After losing her family home and prosperous life, former southern belle Blanche
Dubois moves into the shabby apartment of her younger sister Stella and her husband
Stanley Kowalski in a poor neighbourhood in New Orleans.
Blanche and Stanley take an immediate dislike to one another. The conflict between them
heats up as Blanche attempts to convince her sister to leave her abusive husband. Tensions
mount with tragic consequences for Blanche.
