Stork has strengthened its ties with Aberdeen’s Quarryhill school by signing an agreement that will see Stork deliver a range of employability activities to pupils over the next 12 months. The partnership is part of the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) initiative and is the first of its kind between a local employer and primary school.
As part of the agreement, Stork will invite a range of speakers from across the organisation to talk about their roles and deliver a series of workshops covering STEM subjects, skills in the workplace and basic CV writing.

Daniel Stephen, learning and development advisor at Stork said: “We are really excited to be working with Quarryhill on a range of activities throughout the coming year. Providing the pupils with the opportunity to learn about the world of work and the pathways it can provide for young people”
Sharron Macdonald, depute head teacher at Quarryhill School said: “We are delighted to have formally recognised the partnership with Stork and are excited to work closely with the company to provide opportunities for our learners to develop the skills for life in meaningful and relevant contexts, connecting learning from within the classroom with the world of work.
Mary Holland, director of DYW North East, added: “It’s never too early to inspire the next generation of business leaders and expand young people’s horizons when it comes to the world of work and the variety of pathways open to them.

DYW is the Scottish Government’s Youth Employment strategy to better prepare young people for the world of work. Activities are delivered by 21 regional groups, of which DYW North East is one.
