OEUK’s Health, Safety, and Environment Conference, scheduled for February 8, 2024, at P&J Live in Aberdeen, promises strategies for enhanced performance, wellbeing, and results. Notable speaker Dr Tharaka Gunarathne, renowned celebrity psychiatrist and medical educator, will share insights on optimising mental, physical, and relationship health for sustained performance.

Dr Gunarathne, known for his role in Channel Four’s reality TV series “Scared of the Dark,” brings expertise in navigating the minds of individuals to drive behavioural change, maximising productivity and profit for organisations. His dynamic session aims to help conference delegates better understand workforce integration and create a balanced environment conducive to sustained high performance.

Among the conference highlights are presentations on team engagement for positive environmental progress, monitoring compliance in health processes, and exploration of non-physical aspects of health and safety. The event anticipates up to 500 delegates, offering valuable networking opportunities and a platform to share innovation and experiences in various workstreams, covering personal, operational, and asset integrity.

Speakers from prominent organisations, including Serica Energy, Sellafield, and TechnipFMC, as well as representatives from the Government’s Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning, will contribute to the comprehensive agenda. The opening address by David Whitehouse, CEO at Offshore Energies UK, and event chairmanship by Mark Wilson, HSE and Operations Director at OEUK, underscore the significance of the conference.

Sponsored by TotalEnergies, with support from Harbour Energy and CNOOC Petroleum, the conference aims to showcase industry developments and address challenges faced by the workforce, particularly in emerging sectors like carbon capture, hydrogen, and wind energy. The focus remains on championing health, safety, and environmental sustainability in the evolving energy landscape. For tickets and a detailed agenda, visit OEUK’s official conference website.
