Aberdonians encouraged to have two loves this Valentines Day

13/02/2023

ABERDEEN Inspired is urging Valentine’s shoppers to give the gift of choice while supporting businesses across Aberdeen. With an estimated that 25 million cards sent for Valentine’s Day, this year Aberdeen Inspired is encouraging local lovers to include an Aberdeen Gift Card with their romantic message.

The gift card can be preloaded with up to £500 and spent at around 300 outlets across the city, ensuring the value is kept in the local area.

Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “Giving an Aberdeen Gift Card to your Valentine allows them to choose their preferred gift. With around 300 local businesses signed up to accept the Aberdeen Gift Card there’s really something for everyone.

“Recipients could choose to treat themselves to flowers and chocolates, decide to head out for an evening of food and fine wine or even decide to indulge in some retail therapy.

“The beauty of the Aberdeen Gift Card is that as well as giving your Valentine the gift of choice you are also giving back to the city, and promoting all that the city has to offer whether it’s great shopping, fantastic food or excellent entertainment.”

The Aberdeen Gift Card, which is also available as an e-card, can be used in participating venues including shops such as Primark and Marks & Spencer, bars, restaurants, beauty salons and Aberdeen Performing Arts venues and box office.

Mr Watson added, “The e-card version of the Aberdeen Gift Card can be sent instantly to the recipient’s phone by either text or email. So, if Cupid’s arrow only hits its target at the last minute there’s still no excuse for missing out on the chance to send a romantic gift.”

Physical versions of the Aberdeen Gift Card, which can be sent to the recipient by post, are available online and from the bespoke shop in the Bon Accord shopping centre.

The Aberdeen Gift Card is a prepaid Mastercard which uses technology provided by Scottish tech firm Miconex. For more information and to buy the Aberdeen Gift Card, visit www.aberdeeninspired.com
