PUPILS at Aberdeen’s Brimmond School were treated to a fun-filled interactive visit by author and award-winning broadcaster Nick Sheridan yesterday (Thursday 28 April) as part of his Scottish tour.
Nick, who regularly presents on BBC Radio Scotland’s Drivetime programme visited the pupils as part of Scottish Book Trust’s Scottish Friendly Children’s Book Tour.

Over 200 P4-P7 pupils joined Nick in laugh-out-loud antics and interactive activities aimed at helping children navigate the pitfalls of our modern-day news cycle described in his new book Breaking News: How to tell what’s real from what’s rubbish.
Nick’s visit was an excellent opportunity for the school’s budding reporters to meet a real-life journalist and a fun way to introduce pupils to critical thinking.
Aberdeen City Council’s Education Operational Delivery Convener, Councillor M Tauqeer Malik, said: “We are delighted that Nick was able to share his knowledge and experience with our pupils in such an accessible and fun way.”
“We are justly proud of the innovative teaching across our schools and the development of critical thinking plays a crucial part in our objective of helping young people participate in shaping the city’s future.”
Nick signed copies of his book for pupils after the session as part of the tour’s aim to excite pupils about reading and writing.
