A CONSULTATION on a proposed Busking Code of Practice has been extended to the end of June.
The Busking Proposed Code of Practice aims to help buskers contribute to Aberdeen’s cultural vibrancy by promoting a harmonious and respectful busking environment in the city centre.

Communities, Housing and Public Protection Committee convener Councillor Miranda Radley said: “Busking provides a platform for local performers to share their talents with a wide audience and can create a good atmosphere.
“We are committed to ensuring that busking can continue whilst remaining mindful of those who live and work in the city centre.”
The consultation comes following a motion brought to the Communities, Housing and Public Protection Committee by Councillor Sandra Macdonald in November 2023.
Councillor Macdonald said: “Street performances bring vibrancy to the city centre and I would encourage everyone to take part in the consultation and share their views so that we can support and encourage it.”
The proposed Code of Practice includes designating areas and times of day to allow for street performances to take place.
