ENERGY services firm Glacier Energy has won a contract worth around £1 million to supply export gas coolers for Total Exploration and Production UK (TEPUK)’s North Alwyn platform in the North Sea.

Glacier supplies specialist products and services for energy infrastructure projects globally.

Its work on North Alwyn, about 300 miles north-east of Aberdeen, includes the design, fabrication, assembly, inspection, testing and supply of four shell and tube heat exchangers which will be carried out by Glacier Energy’s heat transfer solutions division based in Aberdeen.

They are due for delivery in January.

Andy Scott, Glacier’s heat transfer division director, said: “This is a significant award for the team that reinforces the strength of our design and manufacturing expertise, as well as our market-leading status in the heat transfer solutions field across the oil and gas, chemical and alternative energy industries.

“A key factor in securing this award was our close collaboration with the client and ability to provide a custom-engineered solution to eliminate potential and substantial modifications to the platform.”

Glacier employs 220 people across sites in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Methil and Rotherham.

PBS has a five-year contract for operations and maintenance services on all TEPUK assets in the North Sea.
