IS YOUR business interested in exploring the benefits of social procurement and responsible purchasing in the North East?Social Enterprise Scotland is looking to connect with the local business community with their forthcoming event ‘Social Enterprise Supply Chain: Buying and Selling with Impact’.

The ‘matching event’ hosted in in collaboration with ACVO, Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action, and Aberdeenshire Social Enterprise Network will take place at the Aberdeen Science Centre on Wednesday, the 6th of March, from 10:30 to 13:30, as part of the Meet the Supplier series from Buy Social Scotland aimed at facilitating new supply chain opportunities.

Social procurement, an emerging trend, has the potential to drive meaningful change in businesses and the sourcing of goods and services. This event is designed for organisations looking to enhance their social procurement efforts, promoting ethical practices, sustainability, and social and environmental impact.

It presents the ideal way for North East Businesses to establish or boost their social procurement by connecting them directly with social enterprises operating in the region.

Maggie Hepburn, Chief Executive at ACVO, Aberdeen’s Third Sector Interface, said:

“As organisations strive to make a positive impact, events like these provide invaluable insights and opportunities for collaboration. By embracing social procurement, businesses can drive meaningful change while supporting their local communities.”

“Social procurement can bring many benefits for businesses in the area. Connecting with and purchasing from local social enterprises not only has a positive impact on the local economy but also demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to ethical practices and sustainability.

“The social enterprise network in the North East represents a diverse range of organisations that can supply innovative services and goods at competitive prices. The forthcoming Buy Social Scotland event will allow us to facilitate closer collaboration between the private and third sector in the North East and I look forward to meeting with representatives from the local business community on the day.”

Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to meet and network with existing suppliers and customers, as well as learn best practices and solutions to key challenges in social procurement and CSR supply chain activities while considering barriers and challenges, best practices, and opportunities in social procurement.

The event takes place on Wednesday, 6 March 2024 between 10:30-13:30 at Aberdeen Science Centre, 179 Constitution St, Aberdeen AB24 5TU.

Space is limited, so be sure to secure your spot through the online registration form available at https://bit.ly/Buy-Social-Scotland. If you are unable to attend, please consider delegating a colleague to represent your organisation.
