Commercial property specialist Knight Frank has bolstered its Aberdeen offering with the appointment of consultant Mark Allan.

The chartered surveyor has more than two decades of experience in the sector and brings expertise in rent review, lease advisory, valuation, acquisition and multi-let discipline.
He will combine his new role with Knight Frank in the north-east with his existing property consultancy in central Scotland and is prepared to embrace a rapidly changing market.
Mark Allan said: “Aberdeen is a region I have been active in for a number of years, predominantly serving clients in the oil and gas sector as well as professional services, and I have experienced the peaks and troughs over that time.
“At present, with the low oil price and subsequent concerns in the energy sector, there is an impact on the demand for commercial property.
“As professionals in that sphere, our role is more important than ever – both in terms of tenant representation and landlord instructions. There are challenges to face but also opportunities. There is an experienced team at Knight Frank and we are well equipped for the current market conditions.
“Despite an anticipated reduction in demand, there will continue to be lease events which form part of the natural cycle of the market. There will also be scope for those who are well positioned to make deals in a climate beneficial to businesses with long terms plans in the region.”
The new addition to the Aberdeen team spent more than a decade as a partner with Cushman and Wakefield, with responsibility for Scotland and the north-east of England. Prior to that he served as director of professional services at Chesterton.
