ABERDEEN-based IT provider IT Hotdesk has announced the return of its Business Insights campaign with the launch of its latest webinar.

The free online event, ‘Threat Landscape 2023’, will provide businesses and individuals an overview of trending threats that are predicted to become increasingly popular in 2023 and the steps that companies can take to stay safe online.

Working in conjunction with Cyber Scotland Week 2023, the webinar will take place Thursday, March 2 from 10 am – 11 am.

Managing director Gordon Christie commented: “We’re seeing new and different types of attacks evolving. And because they’re new, the success rate is higher than some of the more traditional approaches that cyber criminals take.

“Across the industry, we’re seeing the same key threats trending, and the situation will only worsen. Our aim is to help as many individuals and businesses as possible stay safe online.”

Business Insights is a suite of materials designed to keep businesses and individuals informed on the latest technology.

Gordon continued: “Last month, we launched our Cyber Security Report, which highlighted that only 1 in 4 businesses provide security awareness training, meaning that 75% of local business owners are leaving their company at risk.

“Cyber security is a massive focus that businesses are neglecting to invest in, and a lot of the time, it’s due to the perceived cost of creating and implementing a robust cyber security strategy, which is why we continue to create our free events. This way, we provide an in-depth overview for businesses who can’t afford formal security awareness training.”

The webinar is open to all businesses and individuals who want to learn more about cyber security and how to protect themselves. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the speakers on the day.
