AN ABERDEEN City Centre retail unit which had been earmarked as a second North-east eatery for top Scottish restaurateur Nico Simone has gone back on the market.
Following the successful launch of Six by Nico on Union Street, the entrepreneur secured planning permission to open a second food outlet, believed to be for his Chateau X steak brand, in the former Jack Wills unit at the Academy.
However, last night surveyors revealed that “due to abortive negotiations” they were “unexpectedly” putting the unit back on the market.
The unit sits on the corner of Belmont Street and directly across from Aberdeen’s award-winning Art Gallery.
However, it has now been put back up for lease by agent James Morrison, who works for Shepherd Chartered Surveyors.
He posted the listing to his social media, which said that “due to abortive negotiations” they were “unexpectedly” putting Unit 13 back on the market.

The post adds: “The 7,544sqt property is situated over ground and first floor with the ground floor having been granted class 3 consent.
“An incoming occupier would potentially benefit from 100% rates relief for the first 12 months via Fresh Start Rates Relief and interested parties should make their own enquires as to their eligibility.”
Although planning permission had been granted to the Six by Nico Group, it was never confirmed by the company that Chateaux X would indeed go ahead with redeveloping the site.
