Steven Craig, son of Douglas Craig, has been appointed to the board of Craig International.
Representing the fourth generation of the Craig family, Steven joins his father and joint managing directors, Steve McHardy and Jill MacDonald on the board of the global oil and gas procurement company.

Based in Cape Town, Steven is general manager of Craig International Pty (Ltd) and has successfully grown and diversified the business into renewables and mining across South Africa.

Commenting on his son’s appointment, Douglas Craig, chairman of Craig International, which has a £100million turnover, said: “I am pleased and proud that Steven is joining the board. This is an exciting time for the business as we seek to capitalise on our market leading position in the upstream oil and gas industry and our proven e-systems which give us competitive advantage to further international growth. Diversification remains key to our strategy and we aim to extend our reach into downstream oil and gas, petrochemicals and manufacturing.

With bases in Aberdeen, Cape Town, Calgary, Doha, Dubai, Hamburg and Houston, Craig International provides a global service with international sales now accounting for 70% of turnover.
Steven (36) is a graduate of the Robert Gordon University with a MSc in International Business and a Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management. He joined Craig International in Aberdeen in 2010 as a buyer. Prior to that he held various procurement roles with Aker Solutions in Aberdeen, latterly as senior buyer. He moved to Cape Town in (2012) to manage Craig International’s growth into Africa.
His appointment follows Graham Payton’s resignation from the board of directors.
