Gilson Gray boosts licensing offering with Aberdeen appointment

FULL-service legal firm Gilson Gray has appointed Karen Gatherum as a new Licensing solicitor, bolstering its fast-growing corporate practice.

Karen joins Gilson Gray from Ledingham Chalmers, where she specialised in licensing and planning. She previously worked for Aberdeen City Council and has appeared before licensing boards throughout Scotland, with particular expertise in liquor, short-term lettings, HMO and civic matters.

Karen will work closely with Gilson Gray’s Scotland-wide licensing experts, including head of litigation Rosie Walker, who represented operators in the recent high-profile case which found the City of Edinburgh Council’s short-term let licensing policy to be unlawful.
