Graham Bridgeford, the Managing Partner at James Milne Chartered Accountants, is bucking that trend.

We caught up with Graham, who recently celebrated 33 years with the business, to learn more.
“I’ve been with James Milne Chartered Accountants now for 33 years! It’s pretty unbelievable when I think about it.”
“I started in the summer of 88 (not ’69!) between my 2nd and 3rd year of University, then again in 1989 as a trainee.”
“My father was an accountant, and I enjoyed maths and accounting in school, so it was very natural for me to become a Chartered Accountant.”
“It may sound corny, but I love what I do. The variety of work and the interactions with clients and staff make coming to work a pleasure.”
“One of my biggest highlights was taking on the new Inverurie office – which was similar in size to the firm at that time.”
“The admin and client work we took on was challenging – particularly in the initial months. But we got there, and it’s as if that office has always been part of James Milne.”
“Outside work, I’ve been an avid supporter of Aberdeen FC and was a season ticket holder for almost 30 years. So I’ve seen the highs and lows with The Dons! A bit too much of the latter, unfortunately.”
“I now prefer spending my Saturdays watching my youngest play football. My other children are all young adults, from late teens to early 20s, and they keep me right on everything!”
“It’s an absolute pleasure watching them develop into the people they are.”
“And as for the future, I see James Milne thriving in a changing market, as we can adapt quickly.”
