THE decrepit frontage of the old BHS on Union Street could be demolished within months as plans – worth £350,000 – are drawn up by the council.

Development on the new Aberdeen Market is due to begin shortly with hopes it will be open some point next year.

Talks held late last year led by councillors said the remaining structure of the old BHS resembles a “rotten tooth”.

Much of the building was dismantled in 2022 while the old market was being bulldozed.

Aberdeen City Council declined to go into detail on how the major scheme is taking shape.
