P&J LIVE, North-east Scotland’s largest live event venue, has today announced three key senior appointments as the business looks ahead to a strong and varied programme of events in 2024.
Peter Stott, who has been with the venue team for 21 years, has been promoted to Head of Operations & Event Delivery at P&J Live. Overseeing the operational and event delivery teams and combining them into one cohesive unit, Peter takes responsibility for the world-class delivery and operational excellence for the broad range of events at the venue – from entertainment and sporting events to exhibitions, conferences, and banquets – ensuring they are delivered safely, with onsite direction and technical proficiency.

Following a successful interim period, Brian McGuinness this week begins his new role as Senior Event Manager, having been a member of the events team for the past five years. Brian will oversee the team of five event managers, who together lead the end-to-end delivery of all events, including Europe’s leading bi-annual offshore energy conference and exhibition, SPE Offshore Europe, which earlier this year attracted some 30,000 visitors to the region.
Rob Wicks, Managing Director at P&J Live, said: “We pride ourselves on recognising loyalty, commitment and expertise across the team and it’s always encouraging when we can promote from within and enable continued personal and professional development in what is a truly dynamic and fast-paced environment.
“We seek the very best people in the industry and are proud to nurture and excel the careers of those who are keen to make a difference. Pete and Brian are excellent examples of this, and I want to commend and congratulate them on their hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm, both to their individual roles and as part of the wider team.”
Also taking a step up is Jonathan Carlill, who takes on the role of Food & Beverage Operations Manager, leading on all aspects of the food and beverage operation, while proactively developing strategies to enhance the changing needs of P&J Live’s guests and clients.
Graham Mutch, Head of Food & Beverage at P&J Live, said: “Jonathan played a vital role earlier this year when the F&B team was going through a period of transition. More recently, with the implementation of an impressive new kiosk offering and the delivery of a large number of sizeable banquets and events, Jonathan has excelled in a demanding environment to deliver on our significant F&B targets. His can-do attitude is a credit to him, and we look forward to what he has to bring in the years ahead.”
P&J Live is operated and managed by ASM Global. The company’s elite venue network spans five continents, with a portfolio of more than 325 of the world’s most prestigious arenas, stadiums, convention and exhibition centres, and performing arts venues.
