AAB strengthens leadership team with five partner appointments

AAB, the tech enabled business critical services group, has strengthened its leadership team across the UK with five new partners as part of the group’s ambitious growth plans. 

Four of the new appointments are internal promotions with Alasdair Green, Lauren McIlroy, Katy Christiansen, located in Aberdeen, and James Hunt, based in Leeds, becoming partners from 1st April 2022. In addition, Paula Fraser joined the group as tax partner in the Edinburgh office.

Alasdair leads AAB’s Energy Team, working with a range of clients on areas including strategic planning, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), fundraising, and consulting. He works closely with all the business units across the AAB group and is involved in key internal corporate development initiatives across the business. He also leads Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) activities for the group.

Lauren heads up the Virtual Finance Function (VFF) team at AAB. VFF is a bespoke financial solution which ranges from providing seamless support to internal finance teams, to delivering the entire finance function. AAB is at the forefront of this approach, which harnesses technology and cloud accounting, to empower businesses to be agile and responsive. 

Katy leads AAB’s UK and Global Payroll offering. Katy and her team are dedicated to helping businesses navigate the increasingly complex requirements of payroll, both nationally and internationally, whilst working with them to streamline and integrate their operations in a cost- effective and efficient way. 

James is a key leadership team member in Leeds, and in the business advisory and virtual finance function (VFF) team. He is experienced in leading audits for a variety of different businesses, ranging from law firms and manufacturing companies to larger international groups. He also heads up the industrial sector team.

Paula has significant experience of working with high-net-worth families, private clients and entrepreneurs, having held senior positions in Big Four and mid-tier firms over the last 25 years. She specialises in providing a holistic advisory service dedicated to protecting and maximising personal and family wealth.
